1. Tulsa Drillers

If you're a baseball fan, you'll appreciate that Tulsa is home to a minor league baseball team, the Drillers. The team is the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, so you can expect to see a lot of talent out on the field. A prime example is Cody Bellinger, a 20-year-old first baseman for the Drillers, who had an outstanding 2016 season and nearly set a new home run record for the team's 40-year history. The games are played at ONEOK Field in the historic Greenwood district, which is convenient to a number of great restaurants and bars for post-game festivities.

2. Tulsa Oilers

Even if you're not a hockey fan, the sport is a blast to watch in person. The Oilers have been around since 1992 and established a winning tradition right out of the gate. Although the Oilers have not been as successful in recent years, fans are still optimistic the team will turn it around. The games are played at the BOK Center in downtown Tulsa, a great place for getting to know your new city.

3. Oklahoma Thunder

The minor league Oklahoma Thunder football team was founded in 2008 in an effort to help players work on skills so they could eventually play on a professional football team. For the first three seasons, the team played in the World Football League and was undefeated with a 40-0 record. In 2011, the team moved to the Gridiron Developmental Football League and secured a national championship in 2013. The team features talent from the NFL and Division I and II colleges.
