1. Cantina del Rio
1299 Gruene Rd
New Braunfels (8 minutes from Springs at Creekside)
830.515.1950

Fair warning: the Margaritas served up at Cantina del Rio may just spoil you for any others. Readers of New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung have voted them Best Margaritas for five years running. Be sure to try the Swirl, a refreshing frozen mash-up of Margarita and Sangria. Prices of Swirls and all other Margarita flavors are reduced during Happy Hour from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on weekdays.

2. Chacho's
6757 Poss Rd
San Antonio (16 minutes from Springs at Alamo Ranch)
210.520.8717

Having a late-night craving? Chacho's is open 24 hours a day for your convenience. The restaurant is self-service style with dishes served on real china, making it a cut above many fast-casual places. Pair your Margarita with the King Kong nachos that live up to their name, with a half-order being enough to serve a small army. Garnish your meal to taste with selections from the huge salsa bar. Just need some quick food? Use the two-lane drive-thru.

3. Rosario's
9715 San Pedro Ave
San Antonio (17 minutes from Springs at Live Oak)
210.481.4100

Owner Lisa Wong began her restaurant empire at the age of 18, when she used $7,000 of her college fund to open Lisa's Mexican Restaurant. Rosario's has been featured in local and national media, including the New York Times and Washington Post. Enjoy a specialty Margarita with an order of Padrón Peppers, pan-blistered and served with sea salt and jalapeño oil. Many dishes are available in vegetarian or gluten-free options.

4. El Mirasol
13489 Blanco Rd
San Antonio (17 minutes from Springs at Bandera)
210.479.8765

Customers at El Mirasol swear by their chispas, which are fresh handmade Margaritas with your choice of tequila. Another favorite is the Peggy's Special topped with a float of Grand Marnier, described as "better than dessert." Relax at a table on their charming patio surrounded by lush greenery. El Mirasol opens at 11 a.m. seven days a week.

5. Mama Margie's
10927 W FM 471
San Antonio (3 minutes from Springs at Alamo Ranch)
210.277.7090

Stretching the budget out until payday? Mama Margie's top shelf Margaritas made with Cuervo Gold are only $4.99, and they're $1 off during Happy Hour, which runs until 10 p.m. daily. If you're in the mood for something new, try one of the Jack and Coke Margaritas. All diners receive complimentary chips along with trips to the salsa bar.
