With the official start of fall less than a week away, it’s time to put summer behind us and start looking ahead to the new season. But just because summer is over, doesn’t mean you should hang your head. There are plenty of reasons to be excited for fall, especially with Halloween and Thanksgiving coming up! And for residents of San Antonio, there are a ton of special fall events that will surely put you in the seasonal mood. In fact, we’ve already made a list of some local fall events that everyone can enjoy. Check it out!

And for residents at our Bandera location, it’s less than 10 minutes away down Bandera Rd.

2. Oktoberfest San Antonio
Beethoven Halle und Garten
October 3-4 and 10-11, 2014

While Munich’s Oktoberfest is winding down some 5,500+ miles away, San Antonio’s is just getting started. Come on down to the Beethoven Halle und Garten to celebrate the ultimate German festival. There will be live music, delicious German food specialties like bratwurst, and of course there’ll be plenty of beer. There’s a $5 suggested donation at the gate, so you’ll have plenty of money left over for food and drinks.

3. El Dia de Los Muertos – “the Day of the Dead”
Historic Market Square
November 1-2, 2014

There’s only one place to celebrate one of the Mexican culture’s most well known holidays, and that’s at the largest Mexican market outside of Mexico! Celebrated around Halloween, this Mexican holiday is for families to welcome back departed loved ones where participants in the celebration paint their faces and dress as skeletons. There’s no denying the influence of Mexican heritage in San Antonio’s culture, and the Day of the Dead celebration is a must-experience event for anyone who loves the city.

4. The Great Turkey Challenge
