How to Celebrate the Big Game in San Antonio

(February 04, 2018)

Celebrating the Big Game in San AntonioThe Super Bowl this year pits the Philadelphia Eagles against the New England Patriots. The kickoff for the big game is set for 6 PM, Sunday, February 4th. We've gathered together a diverse list of ideas for celebrating the day below.

1. If You Want to Go Out...

Are you the type of person that loves the camaraderie of being around fellow football fans -- even if your favorite team isn't playing?

Head to Dave & Buster's at 440 Crossroads Boulevard and take advantage of "The Big Game Watch Party 2018." Your $27 Tailgate Pass entitles you to reserved seating and exclusive access to their D&B Entertainment End Zones and premier game viewing areas. With drink and food service starting at 5 PM, Dave & Buster's is the perfect places to head with the family or to meet your friends.

2. If You Want to Celebrate at Home...

There are three Springs Apartments in San Antonio - Springs at Alamo RanchSprings at Bandera and Springs at Live Oak -- as well as nearby Springs at Creekside apartments in New Braunfels. These suburban communities are all townhome-style, two-story apartments that offer ground floor entrances. With an array of luxury features and a significant level of privacy, your home is the ideal place to host your own celebration.

Each community also has a clubhouse that could be used if it's still available at this late stage. If you're interested in going this route, your best bet is to contact the friendly staff at your Springs Apartment community and inquire about the availability of the space.

3. If the Super Bowl Doesn't Interest You...

The Super Bowl might be the biggest event in the sport but that doesn't mean that everyone is a fan. Fortunately, there are lots of activities to keep you busy on February 4th.

  • Head to the McNay Art Museum and catch two of their exhibits -- "Stage Frights: Madness, Monsters, and Mayhem" and Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas" before they close that day.
  • At Charline McCombs Empire Theater on 226 N. St. Marys Street, you can see the Russian music, dance and song ensemble, Barynya perform their world-renowned show.
  • Drop by the Briscoe Museum and send a Pony Express Love Letter. There are options for everyone -- Valentine Mad Libs, a typewriter to compose a sonnet and paper to create a handwritten devotional to that someone special.
