All About Culinaria Festival Week in San Antonio

San Antonio is home to a vibrant culinary community offering a variety of delicious and creative food styles along with first-class wine selections. Sample this bounty of food and beverage while supporting a great cause during Culinaria Festival Week.

The annual event scheduled for May 13-17 raises funds to benefit the San Antonio community and promote the city as a top food and wine destination. Here is a sneak preview of some of the activities that make up this popular celebration.

Food Truck Gathering

Members of San Antonio's thriving food truck scene will be assembling at H-E-B Alon Market on Thursday, May 14 from 6– 9 p.m. Participants include B Daddy's BBQ, Crepe Nation and Wheelie Gourmet. Tickets are $10 and include entry along with beverages.

Best of Mexico

Head to The Shops at La Cantera on Friday, May 15 from 7 - 10 p.m. as top chefs offer their creative takes on classic Mexican cuisine. Pair these spicy dishes with a shot of tequila or a specialty beer or wine. The evening includes live entertainment and a silent auction, all for the price of just $50. Sombreros are optional.

Tequila Happy Hour

Warm up for the Best of Mexico festivities at this celebration of all things tequila taking place from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. A $35 ticket gets you tastings of top-shelf tequila brands along with a presentation of interesting tequila trivia.

Tasting Rooms at the Grotto

This scenic area of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center makes a spectacular backdrop for a number of interactive seminars and demonstrations on Saturday, May 16 from 1 - 4 p.m. Make and shake your own personal cocktail, learn the finer points of wine tasting and watch a selection of films featuring wine and drink. Admission is $50.

Burgers & Beer

What would a food and drink festival in San Antonio be without a classic juicy burger? Local chefs will be firing up their grills at The Pearl on Sunday, May 17 between 1 - 4 p.m. Choose your favorite from their inventive spins on this favorite and top it off with a craft beer, cocktail or glass of wine. Live music adds to the fun for a ticket price of $45.

Tequila Dinner

Celebrity chef Johnny Hernandez opens up his Casa Hernán on Sunday, May 17 from 6 - 9 p.m. for this food-and-tequila journey through Mexico. Each savory course provides an opportunity to sample another quality tequila brand. Tickets for this event are $125.
