Every year it seems like summer is gone before we know it. Did you resolve to spend more time with your kids during their vacation? It's not too late to keep that promise. We've put together a list of some of the most entertaining family activities in the San Antonio area. All you need to do is pick the day!

Take In A Baseball Game

Watch San Antonio's boys of summer in action at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium, home park of the Missions. The Double-A affiliate of MLB's San Diego Padres plays regular season games through Labor Day weekend. Nearly every game includes a giveaway or special event such as postgame fireworks. Ticket prices start at just $5.

Visit A Farm

Every child dreams of having a pony. Give them the next best thing with a trip to Fiesta Farm. In addition to pony rides and hayrides, the farm has a sizable petting zoo where kids can get hands-on with animals such as llamas, pot-bellied pigs, sheep, mini-donkeys and a Longhorn steer named Tex. Pack a lunch to enjoy in the picnic area. Fiesta Farm is open seven days a week.

Explore The River Walk From The Water

You and your family have no doubt spent time at San Antonio's most iconic attraction. Get a whole new perspective when you view it from the water on a Rio San Antonio cruise. Take a relaxing 35-minute boat ride as the friendly, knowledgeable guide entertains you with informative nuggets about the various sights. Tours depart from three different stations, so you never have to wait more than 15 minutes. Admission is only $6 for Bexar County residents and $2 for kids aged 1 through 5.

Go Fishing In The City

Enjoy the old-school charm of pond fishing at Millers Pond and Community Center in southwest San Antonio. Parks and Wildlife stocks the pond with fish, so you and your kids have a good chance of landing a catch. There is also a basketball court and two looped walking trails totaling approximately one mile. Pack a picnic basket and make a day of it.

Learn About Urban Ecology At A Nature Center

Stunning Phil Hardberger Park (PHP) was designed to be a place where visitors could see the interaction of nature and urban life. Environmentally sustainable principles were used to preserve the diverse ecosystems in the 311 acres of this former dairy farm. There are several fascinating events to educate kids about topics such as animals and wildlife, organic gardening and geology. The grounds include picnic areas, playscapes, basketball courts, hiking and biking trails and two off-leash dog parks. PHP is open 7:30 a.m. until sunset seven days a week.
