It's no surprise that the San Antonio River Walk is the number one tourist attraction in Texas. This picturesque setting is home to shops, restaurants, museums, and countless other attractions and events. Living at Springs Apartments gives you convenient access to this playground 365 days a year.
If you're looking for lively St. Patrick's Day activities, your search ends here. While the River Walk is deep in the heart of Texas, during the holiday it transforms into a piece of Ireland. Here are some of the reasons why you should celebrate St. Patrick's Day with thousands of your neighbors at the River Walk:
1. You Can Start Early
You can start the festivities early with Murphy's Pub Crawl on Thursday, March 12. Purchase tickets at Rio Rio beginning at 5:30 p.m. and join a progressive tour through the hottest pubs and bars in the area.
2. The Arts & Crafts Show
Find a unique gift for a friend, family member or yourself at the St. Patrick's Day Arts & Crafts Show. From March 13 through March 15, the walkways will be filled with vendors displaying their jewelry, artwork and other handmade items.
3. You Can Celebrate for 2 Days
St. Patrick's Day fun is too much to be confined to a single day. Murphy's River Parade & Festival is held on March 14 and 15, providing a full weekend of activities and events. Plus, it’s free to the public.
4. Irish Entertainment Galore
Each day of the festival, the Arneson Stage will be hosting a full schedule of entertainment between noon and 6 p.m. Enjoy some traditional Irish music and displays of authentic Irish dancing as well as a bluegrass group accompanied by clog dancers.
5. River Parade
What's a holiday without a parade? The procession takes place on the water as dozens of barges make their way down the San Antonio River beginning at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 15. The river will literally be wearing the green when it is transformed by 110 pounds of eco-friendly green dye for the parade.
No matter what your interests are, you'll find something to enjoy during St. Patrick's Day at the River Walk. Which event are you most looking forward to? Tell us in the comments!
