Thanksgiving Events & Fun Runs in Rochester, MN

Springs at South BroadwayRochester, MN offers a plethora of ways to get into the holiday spirit while also having fun and staying active. The team at Springs at South Broadway put together the following list of  Thanksgivings events that you, your friends and family can take advantage of during November. 

1. Rochester Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk

Join in on the Rochester Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk on November 23, 2017 at Soldier's Memorial Field Park and start a tradition. The famous and traditional Finish Line Cinnamon Rolls will be waiting for you! The course opens at 9 AM at the park's East Shelter and closes at 10:30 AM. Kids can join in on the fun with their own Kids Dash that starts at 8:45 AM. The Med City Foundation is the official event charity. 

2. Rochester Family Gobble Wobble 

The Rochester Family Gobble Wobble is slated for its sixth year in 2017 and will occur on Thursday, November 23. Registration and check-in start at 7 AM with the first race at 8:30 AM at Autumn Ridge Church. A charitable event to raise money for the Rochester Salvation Army, the Rochester Family Gobble Wobble drew more than 1,200 people who took part in events in 2016 while raising over $17,500. Four events ensure that everyone can join. At 8:30 AM, kids can race in the Lil Turkey Trot while the Gobble Wobble Trial Race begins at 9 AM. The Gobble Wobble Road Race starts at 9:05 AM and the two-mile walk begins at 9:10 AM.

3. Yuletide Villagefest

Starting Thanksgiving weekend, Yuletide Villagefest transforms Red Wing's Central Park into a festive European village. Coinciding with the Red Wing Downtown Main Street Holiday Stroll, you'll find a Village Market filled with traditional music, foods, gifts, spiritists and more. This free event starts at 3 PM and runs until 9 PM. 

4. Festival of Trees

Head to the Mayo Civic Center from November 24 through November 26 for the Festival of Trees - A Celebration of Giving. Hosted by Hiawatha Homes, this event features special events such as a DiverseAbility Day interactive area on Friday and a free Dance Party for Individuals with Disabilities that evening. The Festival of Trees is kicked off by a dazzling Opening Night Gala at 7 PM on Tuesday, November 21 at the Mayo Civic Center. All proceeds from these events support individuals with disabilities.
