Wine-Tastings-Chicagoland.jpgWine tastings give enthusiasts opportunities to try a range of wines while building their knowledge and making new friends. If you share an appreciation for the grape, then you'll want to be sure to take advantage of these wine tasting venues in Chicagoland.

1. Cooper's Hawk Winery and Restaurants

Cooper's Hawk Winery and Restaurants produces about 600,000 gallons of handcrafted wine each year — plenty to supply its tasting rooms across the country, including those in Burr Ridge, Naperville and Orland Park. Held in their Napa-style tasting rooms, tastings include seven to eight different wines and reservations are not required – part of the appeal of this Chicagoland attraction.

2. Fox Valley Winery, Inc.

One of Illinois’ boutique wineries, Fox Valley Winery is located in Oswego, just 25 minutes away from Springs at Orchard Road. Daily tastings are held in a cozy environment that features work from local artists, a warm fireplace and a brick patio, making it perfect for sampling wines and conversing with friends. On February 25, Fox Valley is offering a Chocolate & Wine Pairing Class — a decadent tasting opportunity you won’t want to miss.

3. Wine Riot
March 11-12 at Venue One in Chicago

Wine Riot has reinvented the "wine tasting" event. Featuring more than 250 wines from around the world, you’re sure to experience some tastes you’ve never tried before. The event features a team of committed wine experts to learn from as well as interactive booths and courses that will provide you with insights into the world of wine. Wine Riot has also produced an app that tracks your favorite wines and shows you where to buy them later.

4. Tasting deVine Cellars

You can try, but it will require a concerted effort to leave Tasting deVine Cellars without a newfound appreciation for the heritage of wine. Supplied by the Lynfred Winery, Tasting deVine offers wine tastings at its locations in Naperville, Wheaton and Wheeling. Famous wine maker Robert Mondavi once told Lynfred founder Fred Koehler that he was “wasting” his time by producing wine in Illinois. Fortunately, Koehler was determined and he persevered to become “the father of the Illinois wine industry.” Visitors to Tasting deVine will enjoy sampling a range of wines in a cozy but lively atmosphere.
