Plan a Patriotic Week for the 4th of July in Chicagoland

4th of July Fireworks in ChicagolandThe best events of the season pop up around the 4th of July. Make your Independence Day a blast and attend one of these fun Chicagoland festivals. 

1. The Exchange Club of Naperville’s Ribfest
Friday, June 30 to Monday, July 3 — Knoch Park, 724 S West St, Naperville 

Less than a half hour north of Springs at Weber Road, you’ll find the delicious delights of Ribfest. A dozen distinctive rib vendors serve up their specialties while Miller Lite Tents help you wash it all down. You can purchase a carnival bracelet for unlimited rides, and take the kids to enjoy inflatables and the petting zoo. The event culminates in a half-hour fireworks celebration on July 3.

2. 4th of July Celebration Event
Tuesday, July 4 — Hamilton Lakes, 500 Park Blvd, Itasca

The Itasca 4th of July evening begins with live music from singer-songwriter Pat McKillen at 7 p.m., followed by popular cover band Maggie Speaks at 8 p.m. At dark, the fireworks show will kick off with 25 minutes of beautiful displays. Admission is free, but parking is $25.

3. Mount Prospect Lions Club Village Festival
Friday, June 30 to Tuesday, July 4 — Melas Park, 1500 West Central Rd

You can catch patriotic fireworks on both June 30 and July 4 at the Mount Prospect Lions Club Festival. You’ll find live music, delicious food, and carnival rides every day of the event. Look for the car show on July 1 and a pancake breakfast to kick off Independence Day. Get your wristband early to access the festival for just $20. Admission is $25 at the gate.

4. Lisle Eyes to the Skies Festival
Friday, June 30 to Sunday, July 2 — Lisle Community Park, 1825 Short St, Lisle

The Eyes to the Skies Festival will give you more than just fireworks to enjoy in the sky. Colorful hot air balloons take off during the day while fireworks light up the evening every night of the festival, while the grand finale takes place on July 2. Other highlights include a craft fair, food stands and live music entertainment. Less than a half-hour from our Springs at Orchard Road, this is a great pick for early Independence Day fun.

5. Oak Fest 2017
Thursday, June 29 to Tuesday, July 4 — 159th & Central Ave, Oak Forest

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Oak Fest. This free festival will feature a craft and vendor showcase, bean bag tournament, car show, live music, craft beers, tasty fair food and more. If you’re interested in the thrill of the carnival rides, you can get a wristband for unlimited access for $60 at City Hall before the event or $75 at the festival grounds. Don’t miss the Salute to Hometown Heroes fireworks on June 29 and the Fireworks Extravaganza on July 4.
