4 Great Ways to Show Your Support for Armed Forces Day Around Bradenton and Sarasota

This holiday was organized by President Harry Truman and Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson in 1949 to thank military members in all branches for their service, and today, there are a variety of activities across the country honoring the brave men and women who have served this country.

Here are several ways to honor our military personnel and families this year.

1. Grab a Bite at JDub’s Food Truck Rally
1215 Mango Ave, Venice

JDub’s Brewing Company hosts a food truck rally on the third Saturday of every month. On Saturday, May 20, you’ll find a wide assortment of delicious eats from local favorites including Smokin’ Momma Lora’s BBQ Mobile, Michelle Faedo’s On The Go, Rolling with my Hoagies, Dashing Dingo Pizza Co., Stuffed Food Truck Tampa, and more. The trucks will be on hand from 5 to 10 p.m. and DJ Shawn David will be hosting the tunes.

In honor of Armed Forces Day, military personnel and veterans will enjoy $3 flagship beers from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Show up early to enjoy this great deal leading up to the food truck fun.

2. Road Trip to Kissimmee for the Ride-In
205 Lakeview Dr, Kissimmee

Take the weekend and head up to Kissimmee to celebrate Armed Forces Day on the lakefront. You’ll find live music on the outdoor stage, a wealth of vendors, a raffle and a delicious assortment of food trucks. The event is hosted by the American Legion Post 10, and the fun lasts through May 19 and 20.

3. Go Social with Your Support
