1. Colorado River Canoeing
Little Webberville Park, 910 Water St, Webberville

The Colorado River is a major local highlight that’s often seen, but easily overlooked as a day-long excursion. Get out on the water and enjoy the river with a canoeing trip. The best place to begin is Little Webberville Park, east of Austin. This picturesque spot has playgrounds, restrooms, and barbecue grills to enjoy as well as a boat ramp where you can access the river. You can rent a canoe and float downriver for about two hours to Big Webberville Park, five miles away. Commune with the turtles, herons, and peaceful fish along the way.

2. Blue Hole Park
W Second St and Rock St, Georgetown

Head north to Georgetown and you can visit the picturesque Blue Hole Park. As intriguing as its name, this park features a large lagoon surrounded by limestone bluffs. The area features picnic tables, restrooms, and wading areas, so you can pack a picnic and stay for the day.

3. Georgetown Art Center
816 S Main St, Georgetown

The Georgetown Art Center offers the perfect combination of local lures and nationally renowned works. This is a particular favorite among locals because the rotating exhibits offer something new to explore each month. You can view works from famous artists in the Art Center, try your hand at creating a masterpiece by attending public events like the September Paint Out, and take home something special from the gift shop. Be sure to check the calendar for special events like artist receptions and artist talks.

4. Greenhouse Beer Dinners
1400 E Old Settlers Blvd #110, Round Rock

Greenhouse is more than just a restaurant. If you do it right, you can enjoy an engaging dinner experience here. The restaurant hosts specially ticketed beer dinners once a month, and each one has a unique theme, like July’s Feast of Saint Arnold. The meals feature five satisfying courses, each carefully paired with one of Texas’s best brews, while the decadent menus include gourmet highlights like jumbo gulf shrimp, wagyu beef, and chocolate mousse ensuring that your taste buds are delighted.
