Spare-Room

It’s always nice to have a spare bedroom at your disposal, but it doesn’t do you much good if it just sits there unoccupied without serving a purpose. You’re paying for the extra bedroom, so you might as well put it to good use! But with so many different things it could be used for, sometimes it’s hard to just decide. To help narrow it down, and make sure you’re putting your spare bedroom to good use, here are 4 different ideas to inspire you:

1. Office

Are you someone who’s constantly bringing work home with them? Maybe you just work from home! Whatever the case may be, you can help yourself be more productive by using your spare bedroom as a home office. Because space is limited in most apartments, it can often be hard to focus on something without getting distracted by something else nearby. Whether the TV’s playing, the dishwasher’s running, or there’s something happening outside, it isn’t always easy to escape distractions. By turning your spare bedroom into your home office, you can escape from it all and simply focus on your work.

2. Fitness Room

Want to skip the expensive gym membership fees and just workout in the privacy of your own home, but don’t want to be sweating in the middle of your living room? By turning your spare bedroom into your own little fitness center, you can accomplish all of those things. There will be plenty of room for a yoga mat, stationary bike, treadmill, or weight set. For the ultimate home gym feel, you could even cover the floor with Styrofoam or rubber mats.

3. The Man Cave

Looking for a space where you can watch the game with your buddies, have a few drinks, and just let your inner man out, but your collection of sports memorabilia and beer signs doesn’t fit in with the rest of your apartment’s décor? Try turning your spare bedroom into the ultimate man cave. You can have the spare bedroom, and your significant other can take command of everything else. At least that’s how it usually works, right?

4. Craft Room

If you liked our post about different DIY wall art projects or just love finding different projects to do on Pinterest, try using your spare bedroom as a craft room. All it takes is a table or desk to work on and some room for your art supplies, and you’re all set. With all that extra space, you should have plenty of room to get creative and tackle just about any project.
