If you’re moving to Rochester, consider getting involved in one of these social groups. Not only will they fill your calendar with some exciting events, they’ll help you make new friends and become familiar with the Rochester community.

1. Rochester Newcomers Connection

The Rochester Newcomers Connection makes it easy to find your place in the city. This group hosts a variety of events including social dinners and lunches, a book club, bunco, and crafting groups. You can feel out whether this group is a good fit for you by attending up to three events free of charge in your first 90 days. Membership is $25 per family for a full year, or $12.50 for members who join after July 31.

2. Rochester Area Moms

If you’re a mother in the Rochester area, Rochester Area Moms is a great way to get out and meet other parents and children. The group hosts a book club, cooking club, mom’s nights out, playgroups, family events, monthly mingles, and more. 3. Rochester Entrepreneur Network

Whether you’re a local business owner, or interested in breaking into the Rochester market, this local group can help you make invaluable contacts in the area. The Rochester Outdoor Meetup Group brings together individuals and families with a passion for nature. Activities include hiking, biking, camping, snow sports, and more. Children and pets are welcome at select events, though you’ll find plenty of opportunities that are best for an adults-only day out as well. Though there is no membership fee, members must remain active participants to stay in the group.
