Everyone is an artist thanks to the latest entertainment craze. Wine and art events have been sweeping the country, and Des Moines is no exception. Grab your friends and make a date to visit one of these top venues in the area.

Pinot's Palette

Pinot's Palette anticipated the popularity of wine and art by opening their first location back in 2009. Today it has grown to include hundreds of franchises in cities around the country, including Des Moines. They offer their own app with which you can enroll in classes or review and rate paintings, all from your smart phone.

Glazed Expressions

This charming DIY art studio was named "Best Paint & Sip Studio" in Cityview's Best of Des Moines 2015. In addition to painting, Glazed Expressions offers pottery painting, fused-glass design and candle-making. Kids can enjoy the summer art camps with projects in all different media.

Instructor Marcy Davidson has more than 38 years of experience as a K-12 art teacher. Her motto is, "No Ugly Art!" Canvases for each session are prepared before you arrive using sizes, colors and styles to enhance the particular subject being painted. Classes are held at various restaurants around Des Moines, and Marcy is also available for in-home parties.

Want to host a wine and art party in the comfort of your Springs apartment home or other private venue? With El Arte Uncorked, you provide the refreshments and they take care of the rest for a minimum of only eight paying guests. They don't even charge a set-up fee like most other traveling art studios do. Owner Connie Pruitt conducts regular wine and art sessions at Okoboji Grill in Johnston.
