Holiday_Decorating_BS.jpgAre you looking for a way to freshen up your traditional holiday décor or simply add a little holiday cheer to your apartment home? It doesn’t have to take a lot of time or money to give your apartment that festive feel. Here are some quick decorating ideas that will have your Bradenton or Sarasota Apartment ready for the holidays in no time.

1. Start Simple

Add a throw and some decorative pillows in traditional holiday colors to your sofa and chairs. Place a bowl of pine cones on your coffee or dining table and add in a few ornaments for color and sparkle. Set out candles or potpourri in peppermint or apple cinnamon scents to add delicious aroma to the air. And don’t forget to put on your favorite holiday music.

2. Wrap Some Boxes

Nothing says holiday quite like beautifully wrapped gift boxes tied up with ribbons and bows! Make a stack with the largest box on the bottom, topped with a series of smaller and smaller boxes. Tie them together with ribbon and add a holly sprig or an ornament or two to the bow on top. Use a smaller stack of wrapped boxes as a centerpiece or a larger stack to add some color and shine to a drab corner of your apartment.

3. Add Some Sparkle

Lighting can have a big effect on the ambiance of a room. String some lights around doorways, windows or mirrors. Add a small battery-operated string of LEDs to a centerpiece. Place battery-operated candles on window sills, shelves, and tabletops to get the warm glow of the holiday season.

4. Holiday Memories

Do you have wonderful memories of holidays from years past? Make black and white copies of photos from previous years and attach them to garlands or hang them from ribbons on your tree. Place photos in colorful frames to make a sentimental wall collage or display them on a shelf or tabletop.

5. Add a Touch of Nature

Place twigs in a vase and clip on some colorful bird ornaments or hang some small ball ornaments from the branches. For a lighter touch, spray paint the twigs white before you put them in the vase.

Hang mini wreaths from ribbons and attach them to the backs of your dining chairs, or hang them in your windows. Create a non-traditional wreath by gluing driftwood or shells to a craft-store form wreath.

6. Don’t Forget the Outside

Put a poinsettia or a small evergreen tree into a beautiful planter outside your entrance or on your apartment patio or balcony. Add a wreath to the front door or a swag of greenery around the doorway.
