Seafood-Restaurants-Austin-Round-Rock.jpgAre you craving a big plate of boiled shrimp? Maybe you can't wait to dig into a surf-and-turf dinner this Friday. The Austin area is home to many great seafood restaurants where you can satisfy your cravings. Here's a look at some of the best choices near Springs at Lakeline and Springs at Round Rock.

1. Razzoo's Cajun Cafe
201 University Oaks Blvd, Round Rock

If you're in the mood for some Louisiana-style cuisine, Razzoo's is the place to go. Their menu features favorites like the jalapeno catfish, shrimp basket, and Cajun tricky fish. If you're really hungry, try their Jaws Seafood Platter, which feeds two to four guests and includes shrimp, oysters, catfish, crawfish, fried pickles, and more.

Razzoo's has two patios so you can enjoy the beautiful summer weather while you dine, and they have live bands on stage every Thursday night. With fishing-related paraphernalia on the walls and lights strung from the ceiling, the atmosphere is laid back and casual.

2. Deckhand Oyster Bar & Seafood
500 Parker Dr, Austin

Deckhand Oyster Bar offers a casual, family-friendly atmosphere, fair prices, and some of the freshest seafood around. Start with a round of catfish bites or popcorn shrimp for the table, and then move onto the entrees. You can't go wrong with their half-shelled raw oysters or their Deckhand Oysters — a specialty bathed in white wine-infused garlic butter. Even the sides, which include garlic toast, hush puppies and mac n' cheese, are something to write home about.

3. Salt Traders Coastal Cooking
2850 IH-35, Round Rock

If you're looking for something a bit more upscale, perhaps for date night or a birthday dinner, then visit Salt Traders Coastal Cooking. Salt Traders works with the Coastal Conservancy Association and serves sustainably sourced seafood.

Some menu favorites at Salt Traders include the wood-fired salmon and grilled tuna steak. They also offer a raw bar, a selection of coastal soups and salads, and an array of craft cocktails. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.

4. Pacific Star Oyster Bar
Highway 79 and IH-35 North, Round Rock

Pacific Star Oyster Bar has a sports bar atmosphere and is the perfect place to catch the big game with friends. They specialize in Cajun-style seafood, offering catfish and crawfish meals that will blow you away. Guests also love their broiled dinners, which include whole flounder, shrimp skewers and stuffed catfish.

This restaurant has a great patio and a full bar, and their lunch specials attract quite a crowd. They offer takeout if you're in a hurry, and if you sign up for their e-club, you'll get a free dessert on your birthday.
